Christmas brought to life in Armagh Banbridge and Craigavon…

Posted on 22·11·2016 by Mark Case

Say hello to Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council's Christmas film for 2016, courtesy of Whitenoise. Building on the success of our 'Magical Fairytale Christmas' campaigns of previous years, for 2016 we produced a fully practical live film imagining a child's perspective of Christmas as told to their parents, with a fully realised and hand-built puppet theatre bringing the story to life. A true collaborative effort, the script was written by Mark Mulholland and Mark Case's storyboards and outline treatment were brought to life by the Whitenoise motion and brand teams who were tasked with producing the characters, assets, props and environments for the puppet theatre, led by lead character artists Claire Bethell and Marcin Wilkowski.

Filmed on location in a beautiful Georgian home by Adam Smyth and featuring the charm and talent of Alix Britton's children as our stars, the film is both a lovingly crafted exercise in the art of paper, scissors and glue, and also a technical tour de force, with subtle but powerful practical and digital effects adding the final magic.

The film is the cornerstone of the Council's ambitious Christmas marketing activities, with the full support of an integrated print, outdoor, radio and ambient campaign masterminded by Whitenoise and overseen by senior designer Nic Scott.
