Meet Ellie, Our Latest Digital Recruit!

In 2019, Whitenoise partnered with Northern Regional College to deliver a workshop aimed at introducing students to the creative industry and empowering them with the tools to kickstart their  career. Following a mentoring process involving critique of student portfolios, Whitenoise invited several students to join our team for six weeks studio placement.

After impressing us with her participation in the workshop, the quality of her portfolio of work and her engagement with placement in our team, we are delighted to introduce Ellie McDowell as the newest member of the Whitenoise team. Ellie's primary role will be as a Social Media Specialist and she will work with our clients to develop social media strategy and produce innovative, impactful digital content to support their online communications. As a digital media student at Ulster University, Ellie will be continuing her studies while working at Whitenoise and we are looking forward to supporting and nurturing her talents.

Ellie's NRC tutor Laura Dixon talked to us about the value of Ellie getting paid employment alongside her studies:

"Ellie is a great student and shows an excellent eye for detail, creative flair and independent thought. When Whitenoise offered a placement opportunity, we knew she would be a great fit. Placements and industry experience are invaluable whilst students are studying. We ensure we use industry-standard briefs on the course, but nothing can compare to being in a studio environment and working with real clients alongside industry professionals. This experience with Whitenoise helps students build confidence, understand their industry of choice and boosts their CVs and experience for future job opportunities. Northern Regional College value the immense benefits students receive from placements and Ellie's experience with Whitenoise is a prime example of the high calibre students we produce ready for the workplace.”

Landing the role at Whitenoise after a competitive recruitment process, Ellie is excited to start her position in the Digital team:

"I am so excited to join the team at Whitenoise! I will be working part-time while also studying for my degree in Interactive Media. I cannot wait to be a part of a creative environment and get stuck into some cool projects which will help me to develop my skills and allow me to produce work I am really proud of.”
