Stopping the trend...

Mid and East Antrim Policing and Community Safety Partnership have launched a new drug awareness campaign focusing on the issue of drug and alcohol misuse in their Borough. The cornerstone of the campaign is a short film produced by the Whitenoise film team, featuring a young carefree girl on a swing using her phone. A voice from off-camera asks her everyday questions about her life, her brothers and sisters, what she did for the weekend etc. The twist at the end is the revelation that she is addicted to prescription medication.

The film is a powerful encouragement to #StopTheTrend and is another example of our strong work in public awareness raising.

The campaign is aimed at both young people who will relate to the story as it unfolds and adults in their life who may need someone to talk to about the issue. It was produced in collaboration with a number of key stakeholder agencies and will be rolled out by them throughout the summer.

Here's the campaign film...
