Ards and North Down Borough Council approached us to design, create and execute their Tourism Recovery Spring '21 Marketing Campaign. This integrated campaign involved collaboration across our Film, Brand, Motion and Digital teams, delivering a united impact of over 3.6million impressions on all platforms. 

Our Approach and Creative Strategy

The campaign was a destination awareness campaign designed to align with the Tourism NI activity and run across various media. Audiences were targeted with a "We're Ready To Welcome You" message and subsequent retargeting messages of "Book Now", driving tangible results from NI and ROI audience groups. As the campaign was developed to drive a soft return to local tourism within the borough, our approach required flexibility and proactive innovation to adhere to evolving COVID-19 government restrictions and maximise impact. 


This campaign included the development of:

  • Campaign planning 
  • Full design service for all print, digital and press materials
  • Planning and creation of campaign video
  • Media buying and placement
  • Execution of online paid social advertising 

Key design elements required included social media design, digital advertising artwork, print advertising for NI and ROI publications and the creation of out of home advertisements.

Video Content 


Video content was essential for this campaign and provided an opportunity to engage with and showcase a broad range of hospitality stakeholders from across Ards and North Down. In addition, it was launched on paid social advertising channels to reinforce the message that Ards and North Down was open and safe for tourists to travel and stay for their staycations. 

OOH Activity 


As this was an integrated campaign, we chose the following mediums for maximum offline exposure through forty-eight sheets, six sheets and digital Adshels across Belfast and other locations across Northern Ireland. In addition, the distinct "We're Ready To Welcome You" stamp reinforces the campaign's key messages both online and offline. 

Digital Activity 

As this was an integrated campaign delivered offline and online, four campaign digital ads were advertised online. The distinctive map of Ards and North Down was displayed as the thumbnail cover of the campaign video so audiences from NI and ROI could identify Ards and North Down on the map. These digital ads aimed to showcase on social media a range of activities and locations that Ards and North Down offer to encourage people to visit and stay. 

With over 3.6 million impressions across all platforms and the creation of a valuable content library, this campaign delivered on its objectives and placed Ards and North Down as a key visitor destination in summer 2021.
