Whitenoise collaborations shortlisted for three Royal Television Society Awards

An award winning partnership with outstanding production houses BBC NI and Hop Skip Studios

Fingers crossed for a win...

We're absolutely thrilled to announce that Whitenoise has been shortlisted for three categories at the prestigious 2025 Royal Television Society Northern Ireland Awards, thanks to our incredible collaborations with two outstanding local production houses. This recognition marks a significant milestone for our creative team and highlights the exceptional talent within Northern Ireland's television industry.

Our graphic identity and graphics packages have been recognised across three distinct categories, showcasing the versatility and impact of our creative work. BBC Northern Ireland's "House of The Year" has been shortlisted in the Factual Entertainment category, while Hop Skip Studios' "What's Next?" for RTE has achieved the remarkable feat of being nominated in both the Children's Animation and Entertainment categories.

This triple nomination represents months of dedicated creative collaboration, innovative design thinking, and the kind of impactful visual storytelling that makes television truly memorable. We couldn't be more proud to see our contribution to these two fantastic productions recognised alongside some of the finest productions in Northern Ireland.

BBC Northern Ireland

Working with BBC Northern Ireland on "House of The Year" has been an absolute joy from start to finish. The project allowed our team to dive deep into the world of property and lifestyle television, crafting a visual identity that perfectly captures the excitement and aspiration of finding the perfect home.

Our collaboration with the BBC NI team was seamless, with their creative vision aligning perfectly with our design philosophy. Together, we developed graphics packages that not only look stunning on screen but also enhance the storytelling experience for viewers. The show's nomination in the Factual Entertainment category is testament to the collective effort of everyone involved in bringing this production to life.

The graphic identity we created needed to feel warm, welcoming, and aspirational – qualities that resonate with anyone who's ever dreamed of finding their perfect home. From title sequences to lower thirds, every element was carefully crafted to support the programme's narrative while maintaining visual consistency throughout the series.

Hop Skip Studios

Our partnership with Hop Skip Studios on "What's Next?" has been equally rewarding, resulting in not one but two nominations at the RTS NI Awards. This children's programme presented unique creative challenges that our team embraced with enthusiasm, developing a visual language that speaks directly to young audiences while maintaining the sophisticated production values that adult viewers appreciate.

The dual nomination in both Children's Animation and Entertainment categories reflects the programme's broad appeal and the effectiveness of our visual approach. Creating graphics for children's television requires a special touch – the visuals need to be engaging and fun without being overwhelming, educational yet entertaining, and most importantly, they need to spark young imaginations.

Working with the talented team at Hop Skip Studios has been an inspiring experience. Their passion for creating meaningful content for young audiences perfectly matched our commitment to producing graphics that not only look fantastic but also serve the programme's educational and entertainment objectives.

We're incredibly excited to be attending the awards ceremony at Titanic Belfast alongside our friends from Hop Skip Studios this November. The 10th anniversary of the RTS Northern Ireland Television Awards promises to be a spectacular celebration of local talent, and we're honoured to be part of this milestone event. We hope to update this new post with a snap of our animation team holding a freshly polished award up high.

Thank you to our clients BBC NI and Hop Skip Studios

These nominations represent more than individual recognition - they celebrate the power of collaboration within Northern Ireland's creative community. Our partnerships with BBC Northern Ireland and Hop Skip Studios demonstrate what's possible when talented teams come together with shared vision and commitment to excellence.

The success of both programmes showcases the strength and diversity of Northern Ireland's television industry. From factual entertainment to children's programming, our region continues to produce content that resonates with audiences and garners critical acclaim. We're proud to play our part in this thriving creative ecosystem.

At Whitenoise, we believe that great television is the result of seamless collaboration between all creative disciplines. Our graphic design and visual identity work is just one piece of a much larger puzzle, but we take pride in ensuring that our contribution enhances rather than distracts from the storytelling experience.

The art of creating titles and graphics packages for national television

These nominations highlight something we've always believed at Whitenoise - that graphic identity and visual design are fundamental to great television. Our graphics packages go far beyond simple aesthetics; they're integral storytelling tools that help define a programme's personality and create emotional connections with audiences.

For both "House of The Year" and "What's Next?", we approached each project with fresh eyes, understanding that effective television graphics must serve multiple purposes. They need to brand the programme, guide viewers through the narrative, provide essential information, and create a cohesive visual experience that feels natural and unforced.

Our design process involves deep collaboration with production teams, understanding not just what a programme looks like, but how it feels, who it's speaking to, and what story it's telling. This holistic approach ensures that every graphic element, from opening titles to closing credits, contributes meaningfully to the overall viewing experience.
